Hello Everyone

I've been sewing since I was about 8, and there was a time that I wanted to be a designer. Then I realized that sewing made me angry. Okay, not sewing but mistakes while sewing. Since then, I sew in spurts of inspiration, sometimes with years in between. A few years ago in art school, I took a class that rekindled my relationship with sewing. We get along so much better now that I'm older and more mature.

Anyway, in that class we did a small refashion project. I resisted for a while because the idea brought up numerous memories of friends finding out I could sew and then dumping large piles of clothes that needed mending in my lap. I ended up creating fashions for a fellow classmate's dog. His name is Guapo.

It was so much fun that I was hooked again. I haven't made anymore dog clothes, but I'm constantly coming up with new ideas. If you would like to see some of my work, please visit my website.

I am new to blogging, and I apologize now if I slack off in that department. Most of my life I've tried to consistently keep a journal, but I usually forget after about a week. I will attempt to blog at least once a week, but we'll see how that goes.

This is a great idea, thanks Nikki. I look forward to seeing all of your creations.

2-month Wardrobe Refashion

The Pledge

I, Jennifer Noland pledge that I shall abstain from the purchase of "new" manufactured items of clothing, for the period of 2 months. I pledge that I shall refashion, renovate, recycle pre-loved items for myself with my own hands in fabric, yarn or other medium for the term of my contract. I pledge that I will share the love and post a photo of my refashioned, renovated, recyled, crafted or created item of clothing on the Wardrobe Refashion blog, so that others may share the joy that thy thriftyness brings! Signed Jennifer Noland.
